Creative Team Days at Weetwood Hall
Imagine a team day like this: you start with a fun session which gets your team using the creative centres of the brain. Then they write a story and animate it; make a movie; compose the soundtrack; write and record their own songs. And all this led by some of the most creative artists we have. Curtis Jobling, creator of Bob the Builder and Frankenstein's Cat, leads the animation group. Sandra Kerr and Helen McCookerybook, songwriters and composers, (Sandra wrote the Bagpuss theme), help you put original music and lyrics together. Then in the evening you enjoy a superb dinner, maybe taste some outstanding wines, and see the movie you have made, along with the soundtrack. Proof, if it were needed, that everyone can be creative, given the right support.
Case Study
We worked with teams from industry along with artists to tap into the creativity of the teams to show how capable they were of making critical decisions and producing creative solutions to problems. Within a very short time they had produced:
- A film with full musical soundtrack
- Animations, both CGI and stop-motion
- Original short stories and poems
- Original songs, mixed and recorded by the end of the day
Outcomes
- Self confidence
- Improved team relationships
- More original and creative solutions
- Innovatory approaches to problem solving and decision making
I think the activities of the day allowed us to enjoy each other in a very comfortable, fun and creative way. Who would have thought that pretending to be shepherds, pigs and sheep would be so hilariously fun!
